TANATOGRAFIA DA MÃE, BY ISADORA FÓES KRIEGER: ELEGY AND MOURNING

Abstract

The paper aims to analyze the Isadora Fóes Krieger’s book Tanatografia da mãe (2022) in a poetic-formal and stylistic approach of the mourning representation. The book’s structure, assumed as a poem-letter, associates lyrism and an intimate confession and defies formal frontiers between genders. The writing is built as a farewell gesture of the poetical voice, but it doesn’t consummate itself because it evidences the extended pain and the impossibility of delimit the mourning through a symbolic closing. The metaphoricity, essential in the poetic composition, represents the fusion between the lyrical I and the mom and inscribes the empty and the absence in the pathos of the language. The memorial images, the syntactic fragmentation and the graphic-visual disposition indicate the lyric I’s affective oscillation, forming a poetic-discursive space of subjective reworking. Therefore, the poetic word resists to the oblivion, defining writing as a permanency form in front of the lost and the mourning.
